About Us

In the late 1800's, the Farris family migrated from Tennessee to North Texas in a covered wagon. They settled in Lamasco, Texas near the location of Sandy Creek RV Park. The children of the family grew up and left the original home place. The youngest son, George Henry Farris and his wife Ruby had one son, David. They purchased a plot of land when David was a small boy. The land was covered in trees and meadows growing from deep sand perfect for grazing cattle and horses.

As David progressed into his teenage years, a new girl, Becky, moved to the area. He and she met and fell in love as high school sweethearts. They rode horses, attended rodeos, and took walks through the beautiful, wooded portion of the Farris land.

As years passed by David and Becky married and had a family. Their two sons were raised as country boys and loved to roam the woods and fields, constantly finding new adventures. These boys, Dustin, and Drew, grew up, married, and now have families of their own. Dustin and wife Whitney have Lynley, Everett, and Wyatt. Drew and his wife Samantha have Ty and Rex. David and Becky retired and continue to enjoy life in the country and love watching their grandchildren grow and flourish.

One day, while walking through the Lamasco woods enjoying the peace and quiet of nature, David began to explore in his mind a way to share the beauty and tranquility of this special place with others who may not have had an opportunity to experience and stay in such scenic surroundings. Hence, the thought became an idea, and the idea a reality. A year later, after much planning and hard work, Sandy Creek RV Park was done!

The Farris Family hopes Sandy Creek's guests derive the same enjoyment of this place as our family has throughout the years.

We look forward to your stay!
